TV Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot

The TV Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot is proud to support two charities:

Cancer Research UK

Charity number 1089464

Every year Cancer Research UK spends hundreds of millions of pounds on research into diagnosing, preventing and treating cancer. They are the biggest single independent funder of cancer research in Europe, supporting the work of more than 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses across the UK.

Every two minutes someone in this country is told that they have cancer. One Briton in three will hear that feared diagnosis at some point in their lives and two million people in the UK are already living with one or more of 200 varieties of the disease. Every one of them hopes that research will come up with a treatment or a cure before it is too late. The research and drug development carried out to date has resulted in cancer survival rates doubling in the last 30 years and diagnosis of many cancers is no longer a death sentence.

Southampton general hospital is home to one of Cancer Research UK’s 19 Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres and Cancer Research UK currently spends over £3million each year at this Centre where it works in close co-operation with the NHS to underpin the development of new drugs and tailor treatments to individual patients. Cancer Research UK has been at the forefront of many recent advances, not only in relation to drug treatments but also in the fields of radiotherapy, surgery, immunotherapy and diagnostics. More people are surviving cancer now than ever before but there is still a long way to go. With your help we can save many more lives in the future.

King's Somborne Village Hall

Charity Number 301866

The village hall has been undergoing a phased improvement programme for the last three years. The money raised by over 40 fund raising events, topped up by grants from the Parish, Borough and County Councils, has enabled us to completely renovate much of the interior of the building. A final phase is about to begin to fully renovate the main hall and stage and build an extension. We shall then have a modern, flexible facility which can cater for the many activities in this vibrant village.
